In her speech Wednesday, Marta Rossi asked political leaders in the tourism sector for effective public policies
This Wednesday, August 1st was in homage to FESTURIS Gramado – International Tourism Fair. The event received the Medal of the 54th Legislature in the Legislative Assembly, a proposal of Congressman Sergio Turra.
Authorities, entities, guests and the press paid tribute to the event and its directors Marta Rossi, Eduardo Zorzanello and Marcus Vinícius Rossi, highlighting the importance of FESTURIS Gramado in the promotion of Tourism in the Hydrangea Region, Serra Gaúcha, Rio Grande do Sul and Brazil in the last 30 years. The importance of Silvia Zorzanello (in memoriam), one of the creators of FESTURIS with Marta Rossi, was also highlighted.
The event will have its 30th edition from November 8 to 11, 2018, in Gramado, and should receive more than 2,000 brands from around the world, 65 international destinations and more than 10,000 professionals from different countries. All continents will be represented at the Business Fair which is considered one of the most important in South America in business generation.
«The homage of the gaúcho parliament to FESTURIS is an homage to history. The history of who made and who believed. Entrepreneurs who have shown that we have the best in Rio Grande do Sul through Tourism. This sector is sometimes so forgotten but it is an important asset, generates jobs and is fundamental for our economy. I feel honored to represent and have been the messenger of this recognition of the people of Rio Grande do Sul,” said Congressman Turra.
The secretary of Culture, Tourism, Sport and Leisure of Rio Grande do Sul, Victor Hugo, spoke of the emotion of the homage. «It’s one of the most human honors we’ve had here in the Legislative Assembly. A well-deserved and important recognition for entrepreneurs with so many services rendered to Tourism in Brazil,” he said.
In their speeches, the directors of FESTURIS thanked the honor given. «We are honored by this distinction of the Legislature for the recognition of the work we have been doing for 30 years. We want to share this homage with the entire Rio Grande do Sul trade. We arrived here thanks to the support of many and the credibility they gave to our work,” said Marta Rossi.
Marta stressed the importance of tourism being placed on a prominent level in the economy of Brazil and Rio Grande do Sul.” I had the pleasure, together with Silvia Zorzanello, one day to understand that we had the possibility to invest in the tourist industry . We tried and succeeded! We see that Tourism is the most inclusive industry on the planet. World tourism GDP in 2017 was $2.6 trillion USD, according to WTO data. This is the GDP of the United Kingdom. We have grown more than the global economy. Tourism is an industry that approaches, eliminates differences and promotes social equality, being an important engine of the economy. We need effective public policies for the industry and we business owners need reliable numbers and statistics as they exist worldwide. We need in Brazil, in the state and in the municipalities to have this data to sit side by side with the other industries and discuss on the level of equality. We believe in the tourism industry,” concluded Marta Rossi.
